Cedar Hill announces strategic shift

For weeks, the city of Cedar Hill dropped hints on social media that something big would be announced at the mayor's State of the City address.
It started about a month ago with posts that featured the city's natural beauty. Cedar Hill boasts the highest elevation between the Red River and the Gulf of Mexico, and is home to Cedar Hill State Park and 52 parks and trails. A green heart was in the messaging, too.
Mayor Stephen Mason ended the mystery at his State of the City address Thursday night. He revealed the city’s new tagline, “The Natural Heart of the Metroplex."
After more than a decade under the tagline “Where Opportunities Grow Naturally,” Cedar Hill is stepping confidently into its next chapter with a brand that aligns its natural assets, engaged community, and long-term growth strategy under one clear identity, according to a news release.
“Our identity has always been rooted in who we are and what we value,” Mayor Mason said in the release. “The Natural Heart of the Metroplex reflects our commitment to preserving what makes Cedar Hill special while building a future that is thoughtful, vibrant, and full of opportunity.”
The city says centering its brand on natural signals the type of growth it intends to attract. Residents have consistently asked for more natural grocers, healthier dining options, and eco-friendly businesses. The city says the tagline also elevates tourism by aligning its brand with its natural beauty.
