6/12/2025

In another exciting milestone for sustainability in Cedar Hill, the Traphene Hickman Library, Signature Park, and Cedar Hill Museum have each earned the prestigious LEED Silver Certification. This achievement showcases Cedar Hill's continued leadership in creating greener, healthier, and more energy-efficient public spaces.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the world’s most widely used green building rating system. It offers a trusted framework for designing and operating buildings that are environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically efficient. LEED is a holistic system that doesn’t simply focus on one building element, such as energy, water or health. Instead, it looks at the big picture, factoring in all critical elements that work together to create the best buildings possible. With more than 197,000 certified projects across 186 countries and territories, LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability excellence.
